Ayşegül Dinçkan, who migrated to Austria with her family in 1990, completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien). In 2017, she earned her PhD from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Vienna in Political Science with a dissertation titled: "New Approaches to Integration Policy in Austria: An Analysis of Guest Workers' Attitudes towards Integration and Integration Policy Issues in Austria". From 2009 to 2013, she worked as Coordinator for the part-time study program at the Muslim Teachers Training College (IRPA) and taught there as a lecturer. Between April 2019 and December 2025, she worked in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as the first advisor to the Istanbul Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Turks Abroad and Related Communities (2019–2023). Since January 2026, she has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, at Turkish-German University. Dinçkan's research areas include migration and integration policies, state-diaspora relations, the Turkish diaspora, discrimination / right-wing extremism, as well as relations between Turkey and EU countries.
