Ceren Mete graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Psychology in 2014. She also studied in University of Groningen, The Netherlands as part of Erasmus Exchange Programme in 2013. In 2015, she completed her course period in Ege University, Social Psychology Master Programme. Afterwards she obtained her Master's Degree from Counselling Psychology at the same university in 2017. Her thesis subject was about the psychological resilience of Roma adolescents. Supported by TÜBİTAK - BİDEB 2205 & 2210 Success Scholarship, she volunteered in several NGOs for disadvantaged groups during her educational life. Moreover, she was accepted to short and long-term European Voluntary Service projects in Albania and Finland. She worked with youth mostly having behavioral problems and cultural integration issues. In 2014, she worked as a field researcher in a TUBİTAK project investigating the development of children in state care. Two years later, she was in the field again for a project subjecting posttraumatic growth in adults after Soma Mine Disaster. In addition to that, she worked in a countrywide study applied in cooperation with Turkish Ministry of Health, Harvard University and Hacettepe Univertsity, namely "Türkiye Ruh Sağlığı Profili II (Profile of Mental Health in Turkey II)" in 2019-2020, until COVID-19 pandemic. Recently she provides voluntary psychological support for the individuals affected by 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake. Her main academic interests are psychological resilience, cultural identity, prejudice and discrimination, group behavior, and gender studies.
