Prof. Dr. Lambert Alff was a member of the Gross research group at University of Cologne between 1996 and 2000, and subsequently worked at Walther-Meißner-Institut from 2001 to 2005. He completed his Ph.D. in 1995 with a thesis focusing on the Josephson vortex flow transistor, charge transport, and the proximity effect at interfaces between high-temperature superconductors and normal metals. In 2000, he completed his habilitation thesis on the symmetry of the order parameter in hole- and electron-doped cuprate superconductors. After leaving Walther-Meißner-Institut, he became a professor at Vienna University of Technology and later continued his academic career as a professor at Technische Universität Darmstadt.
