I currently work as a coordinator and lecturer at the Turkish-German University, on professional leave from the University of Münster, and have also served as a teacher trainer and researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen. I am experienced in teaching German as a foreign language & culture at all levels and to diverse groups. In my current position I coordinate the German language section with 63 language teachers and teach MA DaF students. Previously I trained refugee teachers in German as a specific language with focus on STEM and have been a teacher trainer in previous positions. Currently and previously I am a lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and have taught in Northern Cyprus, Tunisia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and Germany. My research interests are in German language learning & teaching, action-based learning, cross-cultural skills, interlinguistics and sociolinguistics. My project interests are language learning in transnational education and teacher training. In addition, I have developed professional skills as an international external reviewer for quality assessments in HEIs and as an assessor for EU Erasmus project funding. Since 2010 I have regularly acted as external evaluator to the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) and since 2020 act as an assessor for the European Commission’s European Education and Culture Executive Agency Erasmus+ calls (CBHE, ErasmusMundus, Mobility).
