SHORT CV

Philipp Decker works as a DAAD long-term lecturer in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Turkish-German University, where he also serves as director of the graduate programme “European and International Affairs” since summer 2021. He studied Political Science and International Relations at the Universities of Vienna and Limerick (Ireland), with study visits to Fudan University (Shanghai) and Peking University. Following his Master's degree from the Central European University (with distinction), he completed his PhD at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he conducted research at the Government Department on the transition from the imperial to the national age, with a focus on Central Europe. His studies in the areas of nation-building, varieties of nationalism and Euroscepticism have been published in a monograph and in international journals.
