SHORT CV

After completing my studies in electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, where I earned my engineering degree in 1993, I began my professional career in the IT sector in network and system administration. Between 1993 and 1998, I held various positions as a systems engineer and network administrator, including at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen. In 1998, I moved to the Technical University of Darmstadt. As a research assistant at the Institute for Printing Machines and Printing Processes (IDD), I was involved in research and teaching. In 2002, I earned my Ph.D. in engineering. Until 2013, I worked at the IDD as a postdoctoral researcher. During this time I conducted numerous industry-oriented and basic research projects. My research focused on the development of electrically functional inorganic composite materials for innovative electronic applications, medical technology, battery technology, and silicon solar technology. In 2014, I took up a position as a DAAD long-term lecturer at the Kyrgyz State Technical University in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Until 2019, I taught engineering sciences there, secured research grants, and led research groups in international projects, including the EU HORIZON 2020 project FORMOBILE and the BMBF project ProVeCA. From 2019 to 2020, I served as a DAAD Returnee Fellow at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. In the Research Office, I identified funding opportunities, drafted research proposals, and supported strategic research development. I also contributed to a research study conducted by the Department of Industrial Engineering. From 2020 to 2025, I worked as a DAAD long-term lecturer at the German-Kazakh University (DKU) in Almaty. In addition to my teaching duties in engineering, I established further international university partnerships with the university, led the strategic realignment of the LogCentre logistics transfer center, and oversaw a GIZ continuing education program for university staff from Central Asian universities in the field of logistics. In addition, I led a subproject within the BMBF project Client II SUFACHAIN and, until the end of my tenure at DKU, served as interim director of the German-Kazakh Research Institute at Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Since 2026, I have been a DAAD long-term lecturer at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul, where I teach in the Faculty of Natural Sciences in the Energy Sciences and Technology program.
