Baver Mazlum Mert graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2015. In 2017-2018, he got his master's degree from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and worked as a research assistant in the field of international law. In this term, he assisted Prof. John B. Quigley in the writing of the book titled Foreigners on America's Death Rows, published by Cambridge University. In 2019, he started to work as a research assistant at the Turkish-German University Faculty of Law, Department of International Private Law. The same year, he completed his master's degree at Istanbul University, Faculty of Law, Department of Private Law, with his thesis on "Third Party Funding in International Arbitration." Since 2019, he has continued his Ph.D. education in private law at the Turkish-German University. In 2022, he was a researcher at the Freie University of Berlin with a DAAD scholarship. In 2023, he worked as a visiting scholar at UNIDROIT. In 2024, he completed the Private Law Doctorate program at the Turkish-German University, and his doctoral thesis titled Conflict of Laws Issues Related to Blockchain Technology was published as a book.
