SHORT CV

Professor Dr. Kyrill-A. Schwarz was born in 1968 in Berlin. He studied law at the universities of Berlin and Göttingen from 1988 to 1993. Following his legal clerkship and his doctorate in Financial Constitutional Law, Professor Schwarz habilitated as a German Research Foundation (DFG) scholarship holder with his work on "Protection of Confidence as Constitutional Principle". After being an interim professor in Bielefeld, Potsdam, Bochum and Göttingen, he taught at the Immanuel Kant University in Kaliningrad, the Eötvös-Loránd-University in Budapest and the Sino-German Institute for Legal Studies in Nanjing. From 2004 to 2006, he was a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court and from 2008 to 2010, he was head of the "Fundamental Constitutional Issues" department at the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia. Since April 1, 2010, he is professor for Public Law at the University of Würzburg. Since 2020, he is a visiting professor at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul.
