Dr. Zeynep Sabahat Yunt Dr. rer. nat., Dipl.-Chem. Molecular Biotechnology, Assistant Professor Dr. Zeynep Sabahat Yunt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biotechnology at the Faculty of Science of the Turkish-German University. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Istanbul Technical University and obtained her Master’s and Diplom degrees from the University of Hamburg. She earned her Ph.D. at the Kekulé Institute for Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of Bonn, where her research focused on natural product biosynthesis, enzymology, and structural analysis. She subsequently conducted her postdoctoral research at the Cell Biology and Proteomics Laboratory at Koç University. Her research activities focus on natural product biosynthesis, enzymology, and the isolation and structural elucidation of natural products. In this context, she particularly works on polyketide biosynthesis, biocatalytic mechanisms, and the characterization of complex biomolecules using advanced analytical techniques (LC-MS/MS, NMR). She also has experience in the quantitative analysis of cell surface proteins using proteomic approaches. Dr. Yunt’s work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and reflects an interdisciplinary approach at the interface of natural product chemistry and advanced proteomics.
