SHORT CV

Prof. Rosenau has held the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Medical Law at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since 2015. Previously, he worked at the University of Augsburg, most recently as Vice President for Research and International Affairs. In Halle, he is a Senator and at the same time Executive Director of the Interdisciplinary Center Medicine – Ethics – Law. He has been teaching at the Turkish-German University in the subject of criminal law since 2013. His research focuses on medical and biologic law (euthanasia, transplantation, genetic diagnostics, reproductive medicine, informed consent), forensic psychiatry, general criminal theory (enemy law, principles of criminal law), as well as selected areas from the general part of criminal law (grounds of justification in particular) and special part of criminal law (corruption offenses) and criminal procedural law (plea bargains, appeals), and comparative law. Rosenau is Chairman of the Commission on Genetic Diagnostics at the Robert Koch Institute and spokesman for German-speaking medical law teachers.
